Privacy notice

What this site collects, why it collects it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

ESTATES IN LONDON LTD (Company No. 16416449), registered in England & Wales, operates this site and the hostels described on it. For anything in this notice, write to support@estates-london.co.uk.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you:

  • What you type into a form — your name, email address, destination, check-in and check-out dates, number of guests, room type and any notes you add.
  • Messages you send us — the content of emails and anything you tell us on the phone.
  • Technical data — like every web server, ours records the IP address, browser type, page requested and time of the request in its logs.

We do not ask for payment details through this site.

Why we use it

  • To answer your availability request and confirm a rate.
  • To hold and manage a booking you have confirmed.
  • To reply to questions, changes and complaints.
  • To keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

Where the law asks us to name a basis, we rely on taking steps at your request before a contract, on performing the contract once a booking is confirmed, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure site.

Cookies and similar storage

This site sets no advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies. It stores one preference in your browser’s local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected the cookie notice. The cookie notice lists the exact key and how to remove it.

Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to advertising networks. It is seen by the people who need it to answer you, and by the providers that host this site and run our email on our behalf.

Retention

An availability request is kept for as long as it takes to answer it and to keep a record of what was agreed. Booking records are kept for as long as we may need them for accounting and legal reasons. Server logs are kept for a short period and then overwritten.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to a particular use. Write to the email address above and say what you want; we may need to confirm who you are before we act.

If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or to the supervisory authority in your own country.

Changes

If this notice changes, the version published here is the one that applies from the date shown below.
